Meet Youth Case Manager

Deana Marie Mendez earned a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Adolescent Development in Applied Science from California State Northridge and is pursuing a Master’s in Social Work from Azusa Pacific University. 

Deana has direct knowledge of the difficulties faced by transitional-age foster youth due to her past experience with the foster care system. Deana actively advocates for current and former foster youth in multiple Youth Boards in the community college district around Los Angeles County. Deana also volunteers once a month to present to new onboarding resources parents (foster Parents) on the weekends. In addition to working part-time as a youth Case Manager for Finally Family Homes, Deana is a trainer/presenter at Los Angeles Mission College for resources parents.

Second-generation Mexican-American and first-generation professional Deana was born and raised in Southern California. Deana enjoys spending her free time exploring Southern California with her loved ones and making new memories.
