Each year, City of Santa Clarita staff vote to select a local nonprofit to support as part of the City’s Charitable Giving Campaign. International Parenting Summit to Benefit Local Charity
Santa Clarita Charity Finally Family Homes to Receive Proceeds from Gentle Parenting Summit
(SANTA CLARITA) – The Gentle Parenting Summit will host an online event Oct. 4-8 with over 20 guest speakers from around the globe, including local author Christina Dronen. The faith-based summit features more than 30 sessions from counselors, researchers, parenting coaches, and theologians on topics ranging from how to deal with whining and tantrums to the theology of gentle parenting, and everything in between. The summit offers a free pass as well as an upgraded all-access pass.

OG Cuicide Inspires Former Foster Youth in College
Rapper and Entrepreneur OG Cuicide to Speak at Event Celebrating Foster Youth Success
(SAN FERNANDO VALLEY) – May is Foster Care Awareness Month. Most foster youth have been removed after being exposed to neglect or abuse, resulting in many bouncing from school to school. Unfortunately, these youth are significantly less likely than their peers to graduate high school, much less college. The 2018 CalYOUTH study found that among those who enrolled in post-secondary education less than half completed their first two semesters.

Life Skills Learning Opportunities Presented For Youths
Life Launch to Offer Food, Valuable Information to Young People in Need
(VALENCIA)- Many young people, especially those transitioning to independence, could use a helping hand. A meal, supportive role models, and life skills will be offered through a new program from the local nonprofit, Finally Family Homes, beginning Oct. 24th.
Life Launch will be a free weekly program, taking place Thursdays from 7 to 8:30, at Valencia Hills Community Church in Fusion Room. Beginning with dinner, the meetings will offer young adults a chance to eat, socialize, and engage with experts on topics including handling money, cooking, and helping friends with anxiety.
